How to check that Botox and dermal fillers are genuine

Check the batch number and expiry with the manufacturer, inspect the packaging, and confirm the cold chain on arrival. We send the batch details you need with every quote, before you pay.

Updated 9 October 2026

Before you pay

  1. Ask the supplier for the batch (lot) number and expiry date of every line. We include them in the quote.
  2. Contact the manufacturer's local office or medical information line and give them the batch number and pack type. They can confirm the batch exists and which market it was released for.
  3. Check that the expiry date leaves enough time for your clinic's usage.

When the shipment arrives

  1. Check the temperature indicator in cold-chain boxes before opening the inner packaging. Report any breach within 24 hours with photos.
  2. Compare the batch number and expiry on every carton and vial or syringe with the packing list.
  3. Inspect seals, security labels and holograms. Botox vials, for example, carry a holographic label.
  4. Check printing quality, spelling and that the leaflet matches the packaging market.
